A Valentine’s Day Story

February 14, 2011

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending one of our military weddings – the wedding of Ryan and Rachel Edens. I met up with Rachel before the ceremony and in talking with her, she was telling me of how she and Ryan had originally planned to be married in October, however, due to deployment schedules, this ended up being the only weekend that would work for them. Though at first she was a little nervous that the date was going to be so soon, she continued to tell me of how everything began to fall into place for them. She then showed me her beautiful engagement ring, and the diamond was heart shaped – perfect for a Valentine’s Wedding!

She then, excitingly pulled out her iphone and showed me the AMAZING cake that our Pastry Chef, Yascha Becker, created for their rehearsal dinner. It was a Black Hawk cake (which is what they both fly in the military). As she was talking, I could tell how thrilled she was to be marrying Ryan, and the day was playing out perfectly!

We then made our way to the beach for the ceremony. The sky was a perfect blue, and there was a slight breeze in the air. Out of nowhere, two helicopters flew over the ceremony (unplanned) and surprised the new couple. It was the perfect sign to their day! Being that they are both black hawk pilots, this just confirmed that they were meant to be together. We are so happy for Rachel and Ryan, and excited that we were able to share in their special day! Find us on twitter to see their day-of twitpics, and stay tuned for photos on the blog.

Best wishes to Ryan and Rachel!!
